Prof. Najifah Pakat Macaraya, JD, is a faculty member of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) at the Mindanao State University, General Santos City. She holds the position of Public Information Officer of the Philosophical Association of Visayas and Mindanao (PHAVISMINDA). She is an alumnus of the Congressional Internship for Young Muslim Leaders (CIPYML). 

Furthermore, she is a member of the Bangsamoro Youth Leaders for Justice and Peace and is the Coordinator for the Towards Peace initiative in the Marawi Chapter. Prof. Macaraya previously hosted a television show named “Youth in Focus” and “Ranaw Spotlight” on RanaoTV in Marawi. She co-hosts a radio show called “Pananaw sa Kalinaw, Kalinaw sa Pananaw” on DXCP Radyo Totoo.

Peace Journey

Prof. Macaraya advocates the significance of peace education and research, highlighting her significant contributions to Islamic education and peacebuilding. Her radio programme also serves as a platform for women’s initiatives and campaigns related to peacebuilding, reaching across the region.

Success Stories

She recently authored a paper entitled “Exploring Philosophy of Madrasah Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao” at the International Seminar on Islamic Education and Peace. In that event, they recognised her as the Best Paper Presenter.
